The boreal woodland caribou, also known as woodland caribou, boreal forest caribou and forest-dwelling caribou, is a North American subspecies of the reindeer with the vast majority of animals in Canada.
Caribou are the only deer in which male and females both have antlers though only some females have them. Woodland caribou (Rangifer tarandus) are shy cousins of the European reindeer and the migratory barren ground caribou of the northern tundra.
