The golden-ringed dragonfly is a large, striking dragonfly and the longest British species, the only member of its genus to be found in the United Kingdom. Dragonfly is found in heathland and moorland habitats. The larvae inhabit small streams that are typically less than 2m wide and overhung with vegetation.
A striking, black insect with yellow rings along the length of the abdomen. The female is the UK's longest dragonfly because of her long ovipositor.
